Pump Parts and Accessories

Pump parts and pump accessories are components and devices used in the construction of pumps. A pump part may include an upstream and downstream bend element, sidestream, inlet guide vane, impeller, front and rear seals, diffuser, and an exit element such as a volute. Pump parts and accessories vary by media pumped and application. For example, a heat pump part includes a reversing valve, two metering devices, and two bypass valves in order to move heat and provide air conditioning effects. A compressor pump accessory is a part that pumps the refrigerant to the reversing valve to provide cool air. A geothermal heat pump component can model the performance of a water-source heat pump, which transfers water to the refrigerant and to the air heat.

Pump parts and pump accessories include gas pump parts, water pump parts, and sump pump parts. The gas vent valve that allows gas to enter a pump is a common type of gas pump part. Water pumps are used in cars and trucks to circulate engine coolant through the cooling system. The impeller that spins and circulates the coolant is an example of a water pump part. Other pump parts and accessories for water pumps include the shaft and impeller that spin on the sealed bearing, which is the part that usually wears out. A sump pump is used to remove water from a basement sump pit. Sump pump parts and accessories include the motor, float switch, impeller, and discharge pipe. A sump pump part can be electrically powered to drain the water out and into the sewer or septic system.

Pump parts and pump accessories include hydraulic pump parts and vacuum pump parts. A hydraulic pump part moves the pistons using pressure in a simple hydraulic system. A vacuum pump can be built using common plumbing parts, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe, valve, clear vinyl hose, and PVC cement. A transfer vacuum pump part typically is the mechanical moving parts of the pump that accelerate the molecules of the gas creating the region of lower pressure and eventually causing the vacuum effect.
